Internet Marketer Accused of Mining Data Can Delay Production of Internal Information

Internet market research company comScore Inc. must produce information relevant to class certification in a lawsuit alleging that its software collected user data without consent, including each type of information collected, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled March 2 (Harris v. comScore Inc., N.D. Ill., 1:11-cv-05807, 3/2/12).

However, comScore does not need to produce the identities of its clients, internal emails, and other internal information at the class certification stage, the court said.
