Intelsat Offers to Share Proceeds If U.S. Allows Airwave Auction

A consortium of satellite operators that includes Intelsat SA and SES SA on July 16 offered “a significant voluntary contribution” to the U.S. if it wins approval for an airwaves sale that could bring in billions of dollars.

The offer came in written testimony for a hearing in Congress, where some members have criticized the prospect of the Luxembourg-based companies reaping a windfall from the sale.
