Intel Wins Dismissal of Suit Over Allegedly Defective Processors

Intel Corporation won final dismissal of a lawsuit claiming that its processors were defectively designed, resulting in security vulnerabilities, after the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon reconsidered a January ruling that tossed only some of the would-be class claims.

The court’s January 27 decision rejected plaintiff’s claims arising from Intel’s conduct before 2017, the year the company allegedly learned of its processors’ flaws and related security risks, but allowed claims related to Intel’s subsequent post-2017 conduct.

After hearing additional argument from Intel, however, the court issued a new ruling on Thursday, dismissing the case with prejudice.
