Inditex Flags Contractor Data Leak, Says Client Records Safe (1)

Zara owner Inditex SA disclosed a data breach at an outside firm, saying intruders gained access to information on commercial relations at the world’s biggest clothing firm.

The data didn’t contain client names, contact information, passwords or information on payment methods, Inditex said in an emailed statement late Wednesday.

The breach originated with an incident affecting a former technology provider, and had an impact on other companies as well, Inditex said. The Spanish retailer said its own operations and systems are unaffected and can be used safely.
