Huawei, ZTE Face Ban by Top Three Japan Carriers, Kyodo Says (2)

Japan’s top three carriers — NTT Docomo Inc., SoftBank Group Corp. and KDDI Corp. — will ban telecommunications equipment by Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp., Kyodo News reported.

The news agency didn’t offer any specifics beyond saying that the ban would impact equipment at base stations. All three offer smartphones and other devices from Huawei. ZTE also sells phones in Japan, and it’s not clear the extent to which they also supply networking gear to any carriers.
