A bill to create a federal program for promoting quantum technology has cleared the House.
The measure (H.R. 6227), by Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), would direct President Donald Trump to create a quantum initiative program and an office to oversee interagency planning of research, development, and other program activities. The House cleared the bill on a 348-11 vote.
“This bill will help the U.S. to become the world’s leader in quantum development,” Smith said.
