House China Panel Chair Seeks ‘Urgent Briefing’ on TikTok Deal

Republican Rep. John Moolenaar, who chairs the House select committee on the CCP, requests an “urgent briefing” from the Trump administration on the recently announced TikTok agreement, according to a statement.

  • “I will be conducting full oversight over this agreement,” he says
  • The law requires guardrails that prohibit cooperation between ByteDance and the owners of the TikTok algorithm in the US, he says
