HomeAway.com Gets Pared Down Fees in NYC Ordinance Challenge

HomeAway.com Inc. attorneys will get $595,000 in fees and costs after prevailing in a challenge to a New York City ordinance that required home-sharing platforms like HomeAway and Airbnb Inc. to proive the city “capacious” amounts of data about their local users every month under an order issued by the Southern District of New York Monday.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York trimmed the $1.47 million award requested by HomeAway’s counsel, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, after finding overlapping legal work was done by Airbnb.
