HILL TECH & CYBER BRIEFING: Ransomware Reporting in Senate Bill

Senators are preparing legislation that would require large companies report to the federal government cyber incidents and any payments made due to ransomware attacks, largely mirroring requirements that House lawmakers are considering.

The parallel legislative efforts come on the heels of an increase in cyber and ransomware attacks on private critical infrastructure companies and tech firms such as JBS, Colonial Pipeline, SolarWinds, and Microsoft.
