California lawmakers are eyeing a variety of proposals surrounding tech companies in the final days of the state’s legislative session, which ends at midnight on Wednesday.

A proposal to require companies to report when they alter search results or use their services to target people with political ads is among the legislation pending.

The measure (S.B. 746) seeks to give voters a way to know when the sites they use are trying to sway their opinions about candidates or issues. It would mandate disclosure to the Secretary of State.
