Heartland Dental LLC and RingCentral Inc. violated the Federal Wiretap Act by intercepting phone calls to dental offices without consent, a new class action filed in federal court alleges.
Megan Lisota says that Heartland, which provides non-clinical support for dentists and has partnered with more than 1,700 dental practices nationwide, uses RingCentral’s AI product to transcribe and summarize calls, conduct sentiment analysis, and generate keywords from the call. It does this without patients’ knowledge or consent, the complaint says.
