GOP’s Rand Paul Says He Will Fight FCC Meddling in Free Speech

Senator Rand Paul said it’s “absolutely inappropriate” for President Donald Trump’s top media regulator to intervene in media companies’ content, joining scattered Republican criticism following the suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr “has got no business weighing in on this,” Paul said in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press. “Any attempt by the government to get involved with speech, I will fight.”
