Google, YouTube Warned By Warren on Trump Settlement

Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote to Google CEO Sundar Pichaiand YouTube CEO Neal Mohan to express concern that attempts by the companies to settle a lawsuit brought by President Trump could violate anti-bribery laws, according to a copy of the letter.

  • Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Ron Wyden and Sen. Peter Welch also signed the letter
  • Senators say they are concerned Google might try to settle the Trump administration’s lawsuit alleging censorship by Google’s subsidiary, YouTube, in exchange for favorable treatment by the administration
  • Senators ask the CEOs to respond to questions about potential bribery by September 3
