Google Wins Partial Dismissal of Stock Photo Suit

Google LLC was only partially successful in trying to kill a lawsuit from stock photo company Dreamstime.

Dreamstime accuses the search giant of subverting its advertising and favoring Google’s contractual partners Shutterstock and Getty Images. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Jan. 28 dismissed Dreamstime’s claim that Google is maintaining an unlawful monopoly.

But it let the company’s claims for breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and violation of the California Business and Professions Code go forward.
