Google to Make Apps Screen Kids’ Ages in Pact With New Mexico

Alphabet Inc.‘s Google will require that apps on its Play Store use age-screening measures to avoid collecting information from children under age 13 as part of a legal settlement with New Mexico’s attorney general.

The tech giant also plans to increase parents’ visibility into what information apps are collecting from their children, according to a Monday announcement from New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas.
