Google, LG Geolocation Patent Spat Ended at Tribunal

The Patent Trial and Appeals Board said it won’t review the validity of a pair of geolocation patents after the owner struck an agreement with Alphabet Inc.'s Google and LG Electronics, Inc.

Google LLC and LG had petitioned the Patent and Trademark Office administrative law tribunal to review American GNC Corporation’s Patent Nos. 6,792,353and 6,415,227. The PTAB terminated proceedings April 3, saying the settlement agreement “resolves all remaining disputes” between the parties over the patents.
