Golf Equipment Retailer Sues Competitor for Ad-Click Fraud

Online golf equipment retailer Motogolf.com sued competitor Top Shelf Golf LLC, alleging the company violated federal and state law by repeatedly clicking on Motogolf’s pay-per-click online ads in order to conceal its ads and drive up its advertising expenses.

Motogolf advertises its website through online pay-per-click ads it purchases from platforms such as Google, committing to pay a certain amount of money for a particular number of clicks per day, according to the complaint.
