Government Accountability Office says it sustains an objection by AT&T against the award of a contract to Verizon by the Social Security Admin.
- “The agency unreasonably concluded that there was no possibility of any potential conflicts arising from the awardee’s performance of a related task order,” GAO says in decision
posted on its website - GAO recommends SSA conducts new evaluation to reassess potential for conflicts arising from Verizon’s other contractual obligations and document findings
- Also recommends AT&T be reimbursed the costs of filing and pursuing its challenge
- NOTE: Contract is for agency’s Next Generation Telephony Project
