Fortnite Maker Files Fraud, Copyright Suit Over Bot Manipulation

Epic Games Inc. filed a federal lawsuit accusing a pair of players of using bots to fraudulently earn tens of thousands of dollars by simulating player engagement in games created by the users.

Idris Nahdi and Ayob Nasser created games within Fortnite—known as Islands—and used bots to artificially increase engagement to earn money in the game, Epic Games’ complaint in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said. Epic Games brought contract and copyright claims against the Dearborn, Michigan residents, and also accused Nahdi of fraudulent inducement.
