Verizon has launched a FiOS TV application for LG Smart TVs, allowing its video subscribers to stream live TV programming from 75 cable networks and the carrier’s Flex View on-demand service. The telco, however, has excluded broadcast network programming from the platform, which discourages customers from dropping Verizon-provided digital set-top boxes and DVRs.
The networks included in the new app include FX, HBO, USA, and other networks owned by Viacom, Discovery Communications, Time Warner and The Walt Disney Co. The network line-ups is identical to the app Verizon recently developed for the Apple iPad. Included in the app is ESPNews, ...
