The Federal Communications Commission will consider adding antennas and internet equipment to rules requiring local governments and private groups to let consumers install satellite dishes.
The proposal, adopted unanimously at the FCC’s April 12 meeting, seeks public comment on expanding the rules to encompass wireless internet equipment as part of agency efforts to encourage broadband deployment and the buildout of wireless infrastructure.
The FCC adopted the rules so consumers could freely install satellite dishes and other TV programming equipment on their homes.
