FCC to Vote to Repurpose Unused Educational Spectrum for 5G (1)

The FCC will vote to open up part of a spectrum band devoted to educational use to support 5G wireless networks, Chairman Ajit Pai announced.

Pai’s proposed order would allow tribal nations and commercial providers such as AT&T Inc. and Sprint Corp. to access some mid-band airwaves in the 2.5 GHz band to expand broadband networks.
