The Federal Communications Commission is poised to kick off a $3.2 billion program that will temporarily provide discounted internet service to potentially millions of households.
Starting Wednesday, eligible consumers will be able to apply for discounts on their monthly broadband bill of up to $50, and $75 on tribal lands. All eligible households can also receive a single discount of $100 on a laptop or other connected device from a participating provider.
