FCC Proposes Fine Against Gray TV for Media Ownership Violation

Gray Television “willfully and repeatedly” violated the Federal Communications Commission’s prohibition against owning two top-four television stations in the same area, FCC says in a statement.

  • Company acquired the CBS network affiliation for KTVA, resulting in ownership of 2 stations in Alaska designated market area
  • FCC proposes $518,283 fine, the statutory maximum for a single violation by a broadcaster
