Facebook Inc.‘s Instagram faces inquiries by Ireland’s privacy regulator into how the company handles children’s data.

The Irish Data Protection Commission announced that it opened two inquiries into Instagram in September after getting complaints about the social media platform. The commission said it has identified “potential concerns” that require further review.

One inquiry is looking at whether Facebook has a legal basis for processing children’s data, and whether the platform includes adequate safeguards for kids, according to the commission’s statement.
