Facebook Whistleblower Warns of Impact of Sandberg’s Departure

Former Facebook employee-turned-whistleblower Frances Haugen said she is worried about the impact that the departure of longtime Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg will have on the social media giant.

Haugen left the company last year, taking with her with thousands of internal documents that outlined the company’s challenges in dealing with hate speech and other harmful content. Haugen said that Sandberg, who formally left Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. last month, was proactive in trying to identify societal issues being raised by the company’s apps.
