Ex-ASML Staffer Gets 3 Years in Jail for Stealing Trade Secrets

An ex-ASML Holding NV employee was sentenced to three years in Dutch prison for sharing confidential information from several chip manufacturing companies with Russia.

The 43-year-old Russian was found guilty of breaking sanctions laws, stealing trade secrets and sharing them with Russia, according to the Rotterdam court.

The man worked for several companies in the semiconductor industry in the period between 2015 and 2024, including ASML and NXP Semiconductors.
