eBay will pay $59m to settle allegations that it violated the Controlled Substance Act with regard to sales of pill presses and encapsulating machines, according to the US DOJ.

- Investigation found eBay’s pill press buyers have been successfully prosecuted for trafficking illegal counterfeit pills
- Company also agreed to enhance compliance program
