Drone Patent Dispute Settled by DJI, QFO; Parrot Suit Continues

SZ DJI Technology, the world’s biggest maker of drones, settled a pre-emptive lawsuit it filed last month to fend off a potential patent-infringement complaint from QFO Labs, which is continuing to litigate a similar dispute with French competitor Parrot.

  • The notice of dismissal in the DJI case was approved Tuesday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, though no details were provided
  • DJI, based in Shenzhen, China, filed the suit Feb. 24, less than a week before the launch of its latest drone, the FPV Aircraft, which stands for “first-person view”
