Domain Overseer Fights .Africa Domain Injunction Bid

Ongoing delay in delegating the .africa Internet domain has adversely affected the ability of African governments to participate in the Internet economy, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) argued in a March 14 court filing (DotConnectAfrica Trust v. ICANN, C.D. Cal., 2:16-cv-00862, opposition to motion for preliminary injunction 3/14/16).

ICANN opposed .africa applicant DotConnectAfrica Trust’s (DCA) injunction request, which seeks to halt delegation of .africa to its competitor, ZA Central Registry (ZACR).
