Dish Network in $210 Million Multistate Settlement Over Telemarketing

Dish Network entered a $210 million multistate settlement over its telemarketing campaigns, according to a statement from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra.

  • The settlement resolves a 2009 lawsuit against Dish by California, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois and the federal government
  • Dish had appealed an earlier judgment which was upheld, though the appellate court said the damages and penalties award should be recalculated
  • NOTE: Dec. 2, Dish Unlikely to Get Supreme Court Review of $280 Million Fine
