Dish Network LLC lost its bid for a rehearing of a court decision that found the company liable for using retailers to make robocalls without customers’ permission.
No circuit court judge voted for Dish’s motion to rehear the March 26 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said in a June 25 order.
The denial is a victory for the U.S. and four states that sued, alleging Dish robocalled consumers on do-not-call lists in violation of the Telemarketing Sales Rule, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and related state laws.
Dish declined to comment.
