Discovery to Suspend Broadcasting of Cable Channels in Russia

Discovery Inc., the cable TV programmer, plans to suspend broadcasting in Russia, becoming the latest media company to pull out in the wake of that country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Russian TV audiences will lose access to the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, HGTV and Eurosport, the company said in an emailed statement.

Discovery still owns a minority stake in a joint venture with National Media Group, which owns or operates dozens of TV networks, production companies and other media assets in Russia.
