Despite a loss of subscribers, DirecTV’s U.S. 2Q revenues increased 5.2 percent to $5.94 billion as ARPU rose.
The ARPU increase of 4.6 percent to $98.73 was driven primarily by an increase in the number of advanced receivers in service and an increase in associated service fees, price increases, higher fees for a new enhanced warranty program, and increased commercial revenues. Those factors were partially offset by increased promotional offers and fewer pay-per-view events.
