Deutsche Telekom AG is producing its first drama series to convince customers to sign up for its Entertain IPTV service as the phone company mimics the push for exclusive content pioneered by the likes of Netflix Inc. and Amazon.com Inc.
The carrier is teaming with production companies Bavaria Fernsehproduktion GmbH and Telfrance to make “Germanized,” a dramatic comedy set in an ailing French coastal town that lures a German investor to the region to save it from bankruptcy, the company said Sept. 22.
