The Pentagon is creating an independent accreditation body and unveiling final cyber standards, as the military pushes ahead with plans to eventually certify cybersecurity measures among about 300,000 defense contractors.
The not-for-profit body is composed 13 self-nominated members and will be charged with overseeing auditors and certification of companies as the standards begin appearing in contracting solicitations this summer. The 300-plus pages of certification requirements were expected to be published by the Pentagon Friday.
