Data Breach Class Claims Against LendingTree Sent to Arbitrator

Allegations that LendingTree LLC negligently failed to protect users’ financial information in connection with a February 2022 data breach should be heard by an arbitrator, a federal magistrate judge said.

The terms of use agreed to by all LendingTree account holders included a valid, enforceable provision requiring all disputes between them and the company to be sent to arbitration, Magistrate Judge David S. Cayer of the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina said Wednesday.
