CVS-Sentry Software Antitrust Suit Paused Pending Settlement

A lawsuit accusing CVS Pharmacy Inc. of requiring hospitals it deals with to use a subsidiary’s drug inventory software was paused by the Southern District of Florida while the parties hammer out a settlement.

The suit claims CVS violated antitrust laws by tying its contract pharmacy services to software developed by Wellpartner Inc. that helps hospitals comply with the federal 340B program. The “self-auditing” program requires close monitoring of prescription inventory, reimbursements, rebates, and records relating to drugs and patients.
