Clyburn, Other FCC Veterans Picked for Agency Transition Team (1)

Four Federal Communications Commission veterans, including former Democratic commissioner Mignon Clyburn, have been tapped for President-elect Joe Biden’s agency transition team.

Former FCC official John Williams, senior counsel on the House Judiciary Committee, will lead the team, pending a detail agreement, according to Biden’s transition web site. Williams served as senior counselor to the FCC’s general counsel and senior agency official for privacy from 2015 to 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The team also includes Smitty Smith, deputy managing partner at DLA Piper LLP and former legal advisor to former FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler (D), and Paul de Sa, ...
