Chunghwa Telecom Spends Over NT$2.4b to Co-Build Subsea Cable

Chunghwa Telecom invests more than NT$2.4b to jointly build AUG East submarine cable with other network service providers, according to an exchange filing.

• The supplier of the AUG East submarine cable is NEC
• The total cost of the submarine cable will be shared by all parties of AUG East consortium based on their investment proportion
• The investment is to increase international transmission bandwidth and diversify cable routes, optimizing telecom services for customers
