CenturyLink Loses Challenge to Commerce IT Contract

CenturyLink QGS lost its protest of the award of a Commerce Department information technology services contract to Verizon Business Network Services Inc. and AT&T Corp., the U.S. Government Accountability Office said.

Commerce sought to consolidate its telecommunication, networking, and IT services for all department locations except the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The agency awarded two task areas to Verizon, two to AT&T Corp., and two to CenturyLink. The total awarded value of each individual task order issued to Verizon and AT&T exceeds $10 million, the GAO notes.

The GAO rejected CenturyLink’s protest in a decision released Monday.
