Businesses Face Softer AI Rules in Potential Colorado Compromise

Top Colorado lawmakers are proposing to weaken their state’s first-in-the-nation law to prevent bias by artificial intelligence systems in employment, government services, and other sectors.

Developers would no longer have to proactively assess their AI systems to protect state residents from discrimination under legislation state Senate Majority Leader Robert Rodriguez (D) and state Rep. Brianna Titone plan to introduce in a special session slated to begin Thursday.
