BlackBerry Suffers Setback in Case Against Former Sales Manager

BlackBerry Corp. isn’t entitled to a preliminary injunction against a former sales manager whom the company accuses of breaching his employment contract, because BlackBerry hasn’t proven that the company he left to work for was competitor, a federal court in Pennsylvania said Tuesday.

Bradley Filipovich worked for BlackBerry as an enterprise sales manager, focused on unified endpoint security and unified endpoint management products BlackBerry Protect and BlackBerry Optics. In 2020 Filipovich went to work for cybersecurity company Proofpoint Inc.
