Senate Tech Antitrust Bill Set for Summer Vote Gains Support

Senate Democrats are crafting changes to an antitrust bill aimed at the largest tech platforms to address concerns the legislation could hamper efforts to moderate disinformation online.

Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, a co-sponsor of the legislation and chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, “fully supports” the bill and has been working with sponsors on amendments, a spokeswoman for his office said Saturday.

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has told colleagues he plans to bring an antitrust bill that would crack down on the major tech platforms to the floor in early summer, according to a person familiar with the matter. ...
