The whistleblower alleging that Dish Network Inc. and others defrauded the Federal Communications Commission out of $3.3 billion asked for an oral hearing to argue against the Justice Department’s bid to end its nine-year-old False Claims Act suit.

Vermont National Telephone Company says it must have an oral hearing to explain why the DOJ may have improperly or arbitrarily concluded that the suit has become too costly for the government’s continued support.
