BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 2683, Remote Access Export Controls

The Commerce Department would be able to issue export licenses to regulate remote network access to sensitive US-based technologies under a modified version of H.R. 2683.

The measure would prohibit foreign entities from obtaining remote access, through a cloud network or similar system, to controlled items without an export license from the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security.
