AT&T is securing its market position in Kansas City as Google moves forward with plans to light up its own fiber-based service in that area.
The nation’s largest telco announced last week that it has expanded the availability of its U-verse TV and high-speed Internet service to 400,000 homes across the Kansas City metropolitan area.
In a show of fair play, AT&T has also agreed to allow Google to lease space on its utility poles in Kansas City so that the Internet search giant can deliver its hang its 1 Gbps broadband network.
