Apple $310 Million iPhone Throttling Deal Faces Objector Appeals

Apple Inc.'s $310 million class settlement that would resolve litigation alleging the company hampered performance in older iPhones has drawn several appeals to the Ninth Circuit by individuals and a business opposing its fee awards and other features, court filings show.

Plaintiffs filed some 66 proposed class suits alleging Apple deliberately slowed older phones and hindered battery performance through software updates. The consumers and Apple reached agreement on a deal that called for a payment of between $310 million and $500 million, depending on the number of valid claims.
