Apple, Amazon Named in ITC Case Over Former Microchip Patents

Closely held Neodron filed a patent-infringement complaint seeking to block imports of touch-controlled mobile devices by Apple, Samsung, Amazon, Asustek, LG, Microsoft, Lenovo’s Motorola Mobility and Sony.

  • Neodron claims smartphones, tablets and other devices made by the companies infringe four patents, according to complaint filed Friday with U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington
  • Neodron relies on licenses it has with Microchip as basis for its argument that it fulfills the ITC requirement of a domestic industry
