Amazon.com and Jungle Nations Given Deadline on Domain Standoff

The world’s biggest e-commerce company and nations making up the Amazon River basin must agree by early April on a dispute over a domain name or face a unilateral ruling by the web page regulator ICANN.

Since 2012, Brazil and other nations have argued that the ”.Amazon” domain name should not be the monopoly of a company, but rather should be available for the countries of the region to promote economic and cultural interests, as well as the digital inclusion of their populations.
